Kimberly’s Ways to Work Story
June 2, 2014
Kimberly was a single mother whose only form of transportation was the bus. When she heard about the Ways to Work program at church, she jumped at the chance to change her family’s life.
Ways to Work granted Kimberly a car loan that she says gave her a second chance. “I want to do better for my family and myself, and now I feel like I can,” she said. Kimberly has since paid off her loan and is working to achieve even greater financial goals like home ownership and a better credit score.
The Ways to Work program is a partnership with Family Foundations that helps low- to moderate-income families purchase a car and expand their opportunities. More than just a loan program, Ways to Work participants learn financial and budgeting skills, car ownership responsibilities and how to manage their credit.
