AmeriCorps VISTA Disaster Preparedness Coordinator
The Disaster Preparedness Coordinator’s priority is to create disaster resilient communities by increasing preparedness of non-profit partner agencies, individuals and families through volunteer engagement. The Disaster Preparedness Coordinator will empower Jacksonville’s most vulnerable communities through the development and implementation of a community disaster preparedness education program and by training volunteers.
AmeriCorps VISTA Community Engagement Coordinator
The Volunteer and Community Engagement Coordinator will work to establish strategic plans for volunteer programs related to corporate and community engagement through United Way of Northeast Florida’s emerging Volunteer Center.
2-1-1 Care Coordinator-MYFLVET
The Care Coordinator works closely with veterans and their families in need of comprehensive support services, and remains involved with those families to ensure services or support have been received. With more than 350,000 active duty, veterans and family members throughout Northeast Florida, the needs of this significant population are many and diverse. Oftentimes, simply providing veterans with referrals to agencies or services is not enough. Through this enhanced level of engagement and support, veterans will achieve greater access and outcomes. The primary responsibility of the Care Coordinator assigned to MYFLVET is to apply the tools developed in his/her own recovery/experiences as well as the philosophy and values of the Florida Peer Network in order to build mutuality with veterans assigned to care coordination.
2-1-1 Resource Specialist-MYFLVET
The 2-1-1 Resource Specialist develops and administers the processes for strengthening and maintaining the 2-1-1 community database by working closely with community based and veteran-focused organizations to add and maintain programs via targeted outreach and vetting of existing records. With more than 350,000 active duty, veterans and family members throughout Northeast Florida, the needs of this significant population are many and diverse. The 2-1-1 Resource Specialist will work with Call Center Specialists to identify gaps and needs in available resources and will independently research existing resources and coordinate targeted external outreach.
The function of this position is to support the volunteer activities of the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) tax program within the Community Impact department, and to provide a connection to the Volunteer and Community Engagement department. Specifically:
- Ensure the VITA tax program has the volunteer support and engagement required to meet program needs for the tax season
- Provide leadership to plan, implement and evaluate strategies for volunteer recruitment, training, and retention within the VITA tax program
- Develop a year-round stewardship plan to align VITA program volunteers with United Way and community volunteer opportunities
- Serve as the liaison for RealSense and Volunteer and Community Engagement teams
