Wells Fargo, United Way host Youth Financial Fitness

April 28, 2017

Wednesday, April 5, United Way’s RealSense, Wells Fargo and MaliVai Washington Youth Foundation collaborated to host a Youth Financial Fitness workshop at the Emmett Reed Community Center.

Approximately 90 teens who participate in after school programs at MaliVai and The Bridge of Northeast Florida, attended this special workshop. The teens were introduced to budgeting and saving for large purchases, Using car purchases as the example, the teens learned the financial factors the should consider — not just choosing their favorite color.

Wells Fargo’s Dealer Services division partnered with Arlington Toyota to bring three new cars at different price points to the community center. The teens  had the opportunity to inspect the vehicles and learn how to compare things such as MSRP and miles per gallon. Students then participated in a workshop on car-buying led by Wells Fargo senior leaders and other volunteers.

There were games and refreshments, and the day ended in the gym with a group photo and gift bags for the students.
