Amazing. That’s the first word that comes to mind when Tianna Sparks thinks of United Way of Northeast Florida.

As a child, Tianna spent most of her time surrounded by adults. So, when she saw the Florida Blue email asking for volunteers to serve as a United Way ReadingPals volunteer, she had to do it.

For years, Tianna spent an hour a week, reading to two preschoolers. She loved to see their excitement when they would run up to greet her at the door. Adding drama to the stories helped keep the children involved and tying in humor was part of the fun.

Tianna has connected her passions to purpose through United Way in more ways than one. In addition to helping increase financial stability in our community as a RealSense volunteer, she also serves on the executive committee for United Way’s young professional group, Atlantic Circle.

“I appreciate that United Way helps people build better lives,” said Tianna.

Tianna is happy to have the opportunity to follow her passions as a United Way supporter and you can, too.
