TALLAHASSEE — The Florida Public Service Commission (PSC) is pleased to award its May Helping Hand recognition to RealSense Prosperity Place, an initiative of United Way of Northeast Florida.
“In addition to the United Way’s efforts to help families become financially stable, United Way of Northeast Florida’s RealSense Prosperity Place helps us spread the PSC’s energy and water conservation messages, so families can learn how to lower their monthly utility bills,” said PSC Chairman Julie Brown. “We also enjoy participating in their local events to help their clients apply for the federal Lifeline Assistance discount telephone program.”
Each month, the PSC highlights a partner agency or organization whose clients can benefit from learning how to reduce energy and water bills, how to protect themselves against utility-related scams, and how to apply for the federal Lifeline program, if they’re eligible. Through these PSC Helping Hand partnerships, the Commission shares vital information to help consumers stretch their resources to meet their monthly bills.
“Thank you for naming RealSense Prosperity Place as a PSC Helping Hand partner,” said Phyllis Martin, head of community impact and strategic investments at United Way of Northeast Florida. “We are grateful for this partnership and happy to share PSC energy conservation information and connect eligible clients to the Lifeline program. We understand complex community challenges require a variety of strong and aligned partnerships, and we look forward to partnering with the PSC to benefit our community.”
