June 1, United Way of Northeast Florida kicks off “Summer Daze of Action” in partnership with Jacksonville Public Library and First Coast News to ensure students and teachers have materials they need for a successful start to the upcoming school year.

Community members are invited to donate children’s books June 1 to June 20 at any of the 21 Jacksonville Public Library branches. Donations will benefit United Way’s ReadingPals initiative and Friends of the Jacksonville Public Library. The event will culminate on a “Day of Action” book-sorting event June 21 at the Jessie Ball duPont Center.

Stuff the Bus begins July 1 and lasts until Aug. 1. School supply donations will benefit United Way’s Full Service Schools and Achievers For Life initiatives. Registration for companies interested in hosting school-supply collection drives at their offices opens June 22.  First Coast News will also host a community-wide school supply drop-off day July 29, time and location to be announced. Stuff the Bus will culminate on a “Day of Action” school-supply sorting event Aug. 1 at the Jessie Ball duPont Center.

“Summer Daze of Action” is generously supported by Depend. For more information about “Summer Daze of Action” visit its webpage.
