4 Ways to Give on #GivingTuesday

After the biggest shopping day of the year on Black Friday, we set our sights on the biggest day of charity: #GivingTuesday. We’ve suggested some of our favorite ways to give back during the holiday season, and we hope you will LIVE UNITED and join us in celebrating the spirit of generosity.

Take one of the actions below today, and you’ll be entered to win tickets to see the Jaguars play the Texans this Sunday!

1. Make a donation to the Community Impact Fund.

When you donate to the Community Impact Fund, you can be sure your dollars are going where they will make the biggest difference in the lives of individuals and families in our community. Every gift to the Community Impact Fund goes directly to support research-based initiatives with measurable outcomes in education, income and health.

2. Give your time as a volunteer.

United Way believes that the best way to see the impact of our passion, resources and expertise is to engage in a hands-on volunteer project. We invite you to join the United Way family as a volunteer ReadingPal, Achievers For Life mentor, tax preparer, or financial educator. Your time, talent and experiences are key to maximizing our impact and improving the quality of life for everyone in our community.

3. Adopt a family and give them a happy holiday.

The holidays are a great time to make a tangible difference in the lives of hardworking families in our community. By adopting a family, you can help provide clothes and meals during the holiday season.

4. Post your #unselfie.

The #unselfie made its debut last year and is a new twist on an old favorite. Rather than pointing that camera at you and your bestie, snap a photo of you giving back, a random act of kindness or inspiring moment. Share it on Twitter or Instagram with #unselfie + @unitedwaynefl.
