Give a little hope: Susan Golden

November 23, 2016

GT Golden

Susan Golden is constantly pushing herself and those around her to look at the overall needs of education in Northeast Florida.

Full Service Schools has been her focus since her days as a school administrator in Arlington. This initiative enables United Way and its partners to connect nearly 3,500 students and families to a critical range of therapeutic, health and social services and address non-academic barriers to success in school.

“It’s so important to get out of our comfort zone and see what others need,” said Susan.

By bringing counselors, food programs, and other resources to the area, Susan continues to impact lives of hundreds of children in Northeast Florida through United Way. Her dream is to make Full Service Schools resources available to every child whose life might be changed with just a little extra help.

It often takes more than one agency to serve an individual or a family. United Way believes that community collaborations provide comprehensive, cost-effective solutions to problems that avoid duplication and create positive impact for families across our region. So, join Susan and hundreds of other United Way supporters in participating in a national day of giving, #GivingTuesday, Nov. 29.
