Johnson and Johnson Vision Care team steps up to help Clara White Mission site

December 22, 2015

20151214_105938Visitors to the Clara White Mission’s North Riverside location will notice new improvements to the facility thanks to the efforts of Vincent Barre and his team from Johnson and Johnson Vision Care – locally known as Vistakon.

Barre’s team of engineers tackled issues with rain run-off and outdoor electrical lighting head-on, spending hours of preparation in planning and purchasing supplies so that they were ready to hit the ground running on their scheduled day of giving back.

The site utilizes a 100-year-old church as an event and culinary instruction staging area. It brings needed experience to culinary students and income to the Mission’s work  of providing alternatives to homelessness. Improvements were needed to provide a more secure and secluded area for their events, prevent guests from getting soaked during a storm and maintain the building’s wonderful structure.

Other projects included refurbishing the gardens, adding stone borders to walkways and mulching garden beds. Many thanks to Barre’s hardworking team!
