United Way of Northeast Florida received the four-leaf designation from Green Team Project, a non-profit organization dedicated to creating green communities.

Inspired by the Harvard University Green Offices, Green Team Project’s Sustainable Workplace Designation (SWD) recognizes workplaces that implement environmentally responsible practices across their business operations.  The four-leaf designation is the highest level of recognition an organization can receive through the program.

Areas that the program covers include energy, waste and recycling, water, food, kitchen and break rooms, chemicals, transportation, communications, and employee engagement. More specifically, United Way of Northeast Florida team members have made the most impact by recycling toner and ink cartridges, encouraging staff members to carpool, and other environmentally-friendly  practices.

United Way has quickly climbed up the ranks along side several other Jessie Ball duPont Center tenants as well as other organizations in the Jacksonville community.

The SWD recognizes companies implementing environmentally responsible practices across their operations. Visit greenteamproject.org to learn more.
