Jacksonville Jaguars Wide Receiver Cecil Shorts III Teams Up with United Way to Tackle Childhood Obesity in National Ad Campaign
Jacksonville, Fla. – Across the country, National Football League (NFL) players are teaming up with United Way to engage more NFL fans in improving the health and wellness of young people. Cecil Shorts III, wide receiver for the Jacksonville Jaguars recently joined a group of local kids for a United Way photo shoot as part of a nationwide campaign by United Way and the NFL to increase awareness about childhood obesity and inspire more people to get involved in helping kids get active and healthy.

More than 1,800 community-based United Ways in 41 countries and territories had the opportunity to compete for the awards presented in the three categories of education, income and health – the building blocks to a good life.

United Way of Northeast Florida Announces New President and CEO
Jacksonville, Fla. – The United Way of Northeast Florida board of trustees today announced the selection of Michelle Braun as president and CEO, effective July 1, 2014. Braun succeeds longtime president and CEO, Connie Hodges, who in January announced her plans to retire in December 2014.
