- What do you enjoy the most about mentoring?
- Spending time with my Mentee and watching her grow.
- How long have you been mentoring?
- 7 Months (Match date October 27, 2017)
- What are some of things you and your Mentee do during your session?
- During the sessions we read, play games and talk about hobbies and goals.
- What inspired you to become a mentor?
- I had mentors and all the people who have made a difference in my life.
- What are some goals that you and your Mentee set?
- Improve her grades, research opportunities to get swimming lessons, be more confident.
- What is your favorite memory with your Mentee so far?
- I surprised her with Wendy’s lunch on my Mentee’s birthday. She was excited and so was I.
- Is there anything you would like to share with others about your mentoring experience?
- Mentoring is more rewarding for the mentor than the mentee in my opinion. It is a wonderful opportunity to give back and make a difference.

- What do you like most about your mentor?
- When we draw and talk about different things.
- What is the best advice you have received from your mentor?
- She told me that I needed to talk with my teachers whenever I don’t understand or know the answers.
- What is your favorite memory with your mentor so far?
- When I first met her, she was nice from the beginning.
- What are some accomplishments that you have accomplished with your mentor?
- I have improved my grades and learned how to focus more during class and reading.
This match is at Eugene Butler Middle School and they have been together since October 2017. During their visits they worked on Ariel’s classwork, talked about what was going on with each other and Jenna encourages Ariel to always do her best and stay focus during class. Sometimes they eat even lunch together. Both enjoy each others company and have created a great bond. Jenna has already informed the AFL Area Manager that she will continue to mentor Ariel for the upcoming school year.
