Recognition Programs

These multi-pledge programs encourage new leadership and higher levels of giving throughout Northeast Florida and allow United Way to make lasting changes in people’s lives.

Emerging Tocqueville

This new group provides an extended runway with select privileges of membership in the Tocqueville Society. With commitment to the program, Emerging Tocqueville donors become part of a step-up program to amplify their contribution over three to six years.

  • An individual pledges $2,500 in the first year, and will have a limited networking and recognition within Emerging Tocqueville and Tocqueville Society.
  • The second year, the donor agrees to contribute $3,000.
  • The third year, the donor agrees to contribute $4,000.
  • After this, the donor may continue towards Tocqueville Society membership with the Weaver Challenge.

The J. Wayne and Delores Barr Weaver Challenge

The Weaver Challenge allows an individual to join the Tocqueville Society with a contribution of $6,000 and inspires current members to strive for higher levels of giving.

  • An individual who pledges $6,000 in the first year will be recognized at $10,000, making the donor a member of the Tocqueville Society.
  • The second year, the donor agrees to contribute $8,000 and will be recognized at $10,000.
  • The third year, the donor agrees to personally contribute $10,000.

Step-up Program

This program allows a member to be recognized as a $15,000 donor in the Tocqueville Society with an initial contribution of $12,500. The donor
makes a two-year commitment to United Way and is recognized at the $15,000 level of giving immediately. For example:

  • The first year, the donor agrees to contribute $12,500 and is recognized at the new $15,000 recognition level of giving.
  • The second year, the donor pledges to personally contribute $15,000.

The Society Challenge

The Society Challenge allows a Tocqueville member to join the $25,000 – $49,999 level of giving with a contribution of $15,000. The donor makes a five-year commitment to United Way and is recognized as a member of this level immediately. For example, if an individual pledges $15,000 in the first year, the Society Challenge will recognize an additional $10,000 in that person’s name, making the donor a member of the $25,000 – $49,999 level.

  • The second year, the donor agrees to contribute $17,500 and is recognized at the $25,000 level.
  • The third year, the donor agrees to contribute $20,000 and is recognized at the $25,000 level.
  • The fourth year, the donor agrees to contribute $22,500 and is recognized at the $25,000 level.
  • The fifth year, the donor pledges to personally contribute $25,000.
