UNITING FOR TOMORROW: A Community Concert Celebration

Get ready to celebrate a historic milestone as United Way of Northeast Florida marks 100 years of impactful service.

Thank You for Celebrating with Us!

We’re basking in the glow of an incredible milestone—our 100th Anniversary Community Concert!

On April 13th, James Weldon Johnson Park was alive with the rhythm of live music and the energy of community spirit as we marked a century of service and unity. It was a momentous occasion commemorating our humble beginnings in 1924, right in the heart of James Weldon Johnson Park, where our journey began.

From that inaugural rally to the community concert we shared, our mission has remained steadfast: to provide hope, opportunity and a voice to those who need it most in Northeast Florida. Over the decades, we’ve worked tirelessly to address basic needs, enhance financial well-being and champion racial equity, shaping a brighter tomorrow for future generations.

Thanks to the generosity of our sponsors, the evening was filled with music that transported us through the decades courtesy of talented bands. But beyond the melodies, we shared stories of impact—inspiring tales of resilience and transformation from our community’s history. It was a celebration of family, fun and philanthropy—a testament to the power of coming together for a common cause.

We were deeply honored to receive recognition from the City of Jacksonville, acknowledging our century of dedication to positive change and resilience in the Jacksonville community. From our roots as the Community Chest to the impactful work of the Tocqueville Society, every step of our journey has left an indelible mark on Jacksonville, shaping a brighter future for all.

Thanks to our incredible sponsors, whose unwavering support has fueled our impactful work. Together, we’ve forged a path toward a stronger, more vibrant community, and this concert was just one part of our ongoing commitment to unity and service. A special shout out to these phenomenal talents who made it all possible. John Lumpkin and The Covenant, The Katz Downstairz and Mama Blue had us on our feet and singing along all night! Reese the Poet was a beacon of inspiration, stirring hearts and igniting minds to be the change we want to see happen. The Jacksonville Dance Theatre brought throwback dances like the lindy hop and the jive, and CIL Jacksonville was there providing ASL interpretation, ensuring inclusivity and accessibility for all.

Thank you for joining us in celebrating this incredible milestone as we carry forward the spirit that has defined us for a century. Here’s to the next hundred years of making a difference together!
