Financial Security

We help hardworking families become more financially stable through fostering economic growth and productive employment.

We are currently seeking applications from nonprofit organizations to receive funding for programs supporting priority strategies in Basic Needs and Financial Well-Being. If you visited this page looking for the Basic Needs RFP, please visit the RFP webpage.

The Challenge

Many families - even those with two wage-earners in the household - make just enough to afford necessities, with nothing left over for emergencies or unexpected expenses.

The Solution

With the help of you and our partners, we provide youth ages 16-24 and families who work hard, but struggle to make ends meet, access to financial management resources, income benefits programs, career training and placement services to help improve financial stability.

Community-Based Solutions

Strategic Partnerships

To guide hard-working families and individuals on a path to financial success, United Way offers RealSense—a nationally recognized financial stability initiative designed to save families money and promote responsible fiscal habits. We do this by providing financial educational programs and free tax preparation to families across six Northeast Florida counties.

Youth Employment

Youth employment is a tactical strategy of United Way’s upward economic mobility work that seeks to expose youth from the bottom levels of the economic spectrum to workforce opportunities. Workforce opportunities not only expose youth to career paths and hands-on learning but help employers fill skill gaps and shape the trajectory of their future workforce.
