What is a Legacy Society?

The Legacy Society includes donors who have made a legacy gift to United Way, whether through planned giving, a charitable bequest, or another form of charitable contribution. This includes adding United Way to your estate plan or beneficiary designation. Their commitment to the community supports philanthropic goals that extend beyond this generation.

How do I become a member?

To become a Legacy Society Member, send a signed letter stating your intention for your gift. Please forward it to United Way of Northeast Florida. For those making a significant impact, gifts of $200,000 or more will qualify you as a Tocqueville Legacy Society Member, reflecting your major donor status and dedication to our community.

What are legacy gift options?

• Make a bequest through your will
• Designate life insurance proceeds
• Name United Way as a beneficiary in your retirement plan
• Create a trust-based gift
• Establish a charitable gift annuity
• Give an outright gift (cash, check, etc.) to the endowment fund
• Contribute securities, real estate or other assets for investment in the endowment
